Care for the Caregivers Retreats

Unless the care-givers have some form of spiritual and emotional replenishment, the well will one day run dry.  We feel that the phenomena of burn out, however widespread, is nevertheless a profound personal and collective tragedy and in the end, results in cultural loss.

Many teachers, physicians, nurses, and corporate leaders simply walk away from what has been both vocation and career, because there is no possibility for an inner life or soul life while they consistently maintain twelve-hour workdays.  In that light, we want to be able to offer deep respite and renewal.  We want to contribute pro-active measures to help bring things into balance for the many kinds of care-givers who are reaching the point of exhaustion.

There will be several different kinds of spiritual retreats designed for the specific groups:  special education teachers, parents, parents of children with disabilities, business executives, clinicians, nurses, physicians, chaplains, social workers, those working in end-of-life palliative care, and those in parish ministries, including the musicians.

This page is under construction, but we are working on offering spiritual retreats of differing lengths and approaches in at least several locations, starting with Mt. Angel and Durham.  Each retreat will focus on different themes (death and dying, metanoia, grace, forgiveness, beauty, the communion of saints, the psalms, composing, mercy, compassion, etc.), yet all retreats will refresh through the music/spirituality interface.

Please return to this page soon for further information.

Detailed descriptions of our Educational Programs & Institutes continues on Praying with the Psalms Retreats.
